• V1 AND V2

I love that feeling of being in a jet plane on take-off.

Lucky, there'll be a fair bit of that in the months to come.

With only days between now and taking flight, life kinda feels like that space on the runway, hurtling along the ground at increasing speed. It's that thrill of anticipation that you're about to leave the ground for another place. The inertia builds, both outside and in. And it's getting faster and faster...

They have names for the speeds you reach when hurtling down a runway with increasing velocity.
V1 is the first, it represents the speed which the pilot can either safely stop the aircraft on the runway, or continue on safely to V2; the take-off speed.

You see, at V1 you can tap out... Turn back... Abort mission.

After that, there's just that beautiful space in between V1 and V2. You're still on the ground but you've passed the point of no return. It's all on. You're going through with it. No matter what.

I caught up with a friend today, who inspired me about living beyond V1. Funnily enough, I call her 'Jet'.
She actually moved cities with the conviction that she needed to get out of her comfort zone, knowing she was built for more growth and more of a challenge - something I had never thought about before. I was pretty blown away to hear about her "uncomfortable" year - something that was hard to go through but so rewarding to have grown from - and to hear she'd do it again in a heartbeat! She's actually in the best position she's ever been in, and it all started with getting out of her comfort zone.

Sure, to some extent, we have a real need to feel comfortable. But maybe this is superseded by the desire to chase our own potential. Who knows what's best. I just know airplanes were designed to go beyond that comfortable point of V1, and maybe, just maybe, we were too.
